Introduce All Forms of Reading
Variety is key when it comes to keeping young readers motivated. My kids love both fiction and non-fiction books. My son is really into the Civil War right now and enjoys reading books on that subject. I am sure next week he will be on to a new passion and that is okay in my book. As long as they are reading, it really does not matter what it is. My kids even love reading cookbooks and assisting in meal planning. They both love reading magazines. I think that is partly because they love when they get mail! I also think they appreciate that they get to read about a variety of topics in one magazine.
We are all animal lovers at our house and really love the Zoobooks magazines. There are four different versions, depending on the age and reading level of your child. Both of my kids enjoy Zoobooks and Zoodinos, but they also have Zoobie and Zootles. The kids love the magazines due to the amazing photos and engaging articles and activities. I love the magazines because they encourage reading and they touch on a variety of topics. My kids also love all of the fun activities that accompany each of the magazines.
I am teaming up with Zoobooks to giveaway a subscription of each magazine. All you have to do is comment below with what you do in your home to encourage reading. They are also generously offering a special promotion for my readers. You get two subscriptions for the price of one. My kids were first introduced to magazines when they received as a Christmas present from their great-grandmother, so it is a great gift idea. Young children love to read, but they especially love getting mail!
To enter the contest, leave a comment about what you do at home to encourage reading. Entries will be accepted until 11:59 PM EST on Friday, April 7, 2017. Must be 18+ years old to enter. US residents only. Good luck!
